Drain flows from garage into kitchen, under heater closet with overflow pipe, on to bathrooms and out to the street. Clogged drain between heater closet/overflow pipe and first bathroom. Access from garage drain access or heater closet overflow pipe. Looking for price estimate to clean out that drain. Thanks.

Clogged drains can occur when something that has no place in your drain finds its way there. For this reason, keeping your drains clean can be as simple as making sure not to shove undesirable things down your drains. Never shove bones, egg shells, banana peels, coffee grounds, grease and other objects down your garbage disposal. Avoid flushing sanitary products and diapers down your toilet, and keep your shower and tub drain covered with strainers to catch soap residue, body oils, stray hairs etc. Keep your strainers clean and free from debris. Run hot water down your drains at least once a week.
Make sure you have a toilet and sink plunger handy at all times to clean clogged drains in an emergency. For instance, in case of a clogged toilet drain simply plunge 15 to 20 times, and keep pouring water regularly down the toilet. This should be enough to remove any obstructions. In case of a kitchen sink drain, use a plunger to dislodge any clog. If this doesn't work, insert a plumber's snake into the drain. Turn the handle until you can feel the hook attach itself to the clog. Fish out the clog in this manner. This also works with bathroom shower drains.
Prevention is the best method of keeping your drain clean. Avoid excessive amounts of non biodegradable detergent, never flush diapers and paper towels down your toilet and use strainers on all shower and bathtub drains, and you can keep clogged drains at bay.
